“My Uncle, ALEXANDER IOLAS the Man Behind the Myth”

"This time Alexander the Great started from the Nile. His strength was his work, his kingdom was his spirit, his beauty was his art. Alexander Iolas was a multifaceted personality that could not be boxed in. He possessed exceptional astuteness that always led him successfully to the next stage. Until 1976, he faithfully followed the command ‘Ever Increase,’ given to him by his spiritual father, Angelos Sikelianos. In the final phase, however, his compass lost true North. He decided to abandon Calypso, refusing the gift of immortality she offered, and chose to return to Ithaca, which gave him nothing but a 'false and deceitful destination.' Thus, the prodigal son, the rebel, returned to Greece, a country that would become for him the place of his self-fulfilling prophecy. Words and testimonies without documentation often adorn various publications even today, while unfounded claims are reproduced uncontrollably and with great ease, perpetuating ridiculous fantasies indefinitely. Having let an unfulfilled promise linger, Eleni Koutsoudi-Iola, niece of Alexander Iolas, recounts the well-documented story of his life, debunking myths and presenting the Man behind the Myth."
